Renfrew Baptist Church

Although a minority in Scotland and in the UK as a whole, the Baptists are the largest Protestant Christian denomination in the world. They are called 'Baptists' as believers practice full immersion in water as a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no age limitation on this practice.
The Baptist Church in Renfrew is located at 77 Paisley Road. The fellowship was started as an off-shoot from Clydebank Baptist Church in 1896 and held their first meetings in peoples houses. Later meetings were held in The Masonic Temple and also in The Liberal Association Rooms. The church was constituted on 6th November 1898 and the first pastor was Rev John McCallum from Dunrossness in Shetland.
The present church building was opened for worship in 1906 and the halls were added in 1937.
The church is constitutional in its government system and is a member of the Baptist Union of Scotland.
We strive to be a warm and welcoming church that offers the love of Jesus Christ to all that cross our paths.
